The National Park Service on Thursday pulled out two of its retired Assistant Conservator- Generals, Richard Effa and Lamidi Monsur, after successful service years.
The Conservator-General of the park, Alhaji Ibrahim Goni, in his farewell message in Abuja recalled the stewardship of the duo, saying that their retirement from the park had created a great vacuum in the organisation.
According to Goni, the park has made tremendous strides in the areas of human capital development, park infrastructural development, and biological research among others during his short period of services.
He said the achievements could not have been made possible without the active cooperation and involvement of officers like Richard Effa and Lamidi Monsur who were leaving the park.
He said: “It is significant to state that the officers are not only retiring but have transferred their knowledge to the younger ones in the park.”
Goni, therefore, charge the serving officers to emulate the duo’s working attitude to move the park to its expected level.
Yakubu Kolo, Assisstant Conservator-General, who spoke on behalf of other officers, described Effa and Monsur as among the key officers who had been able to bring the services of the park to the present stage.
Kolo appreciated God for their lives, adding that not everyone who started with them were able to end well due to workplace challenges.
Responding, Effa appreciated God for his successful service years, saying his retirement called for celebration, considering the present situation in the country.
Monsur also responded, saying his success in life began when he joined the national park service.
He appreciated the serving officers for their teamwork with him during his service year, while praying for God’s guidance for the entire members of staff of the park.
