Christian Association of Nigeria, Nasarawa State chapter, has condemned the continued killings in some states in the country.
Bishop Joseph Mason, Nasarawa State CAN Chairman, said this on Wednesday during a rally in Lafia.
He said that the rally took place simultaneously in all the 13 local government areas of the state.
According to him, the association is concerned about the incessant killing of the people in many states in the country.
He said that currently suspected herdsmen were killing innocent people in Nasarawa, Plateau, Kaduna, Benue, Zanfara, Taraba among others.
He urged government to beef up security in areas still being attacked to protect the lives of the affected communities.
He also condemned the killings of two Priests alongside many worshippers in Benue.
He appealed to the government to rebuild all the houses destroyed in the communities in addition to beefing up security to enable those displaced to return to their communities.
The New Agency of Nigeria reports that the rally started from stadium junction to Catholic Cathedral and it featured special prayer for peace to return to the country.
