Following the release of draws for the Federation Cup Round of 64 and subsequent dates for other stages of the competition, some fixtures of the Glo Premier League have been adjusted and dates announced for outstanding fixtures involving the teams that played on the continent.
Salihu Abubakar, the Chief Operating Officer of the League Management Company, announced the minor adjustments.
Abubakar explained that the adjustments are inevitable as the league dates have already been fixed before the Federation Cup draws were held.
“NFF programmes always take precedence over other football programmes and it is in deference to this code that the LMC has adjusted it’s league schedules,” added Abubakar.
Postponed Match Day 3 fixtures involving Shooting Stars and Kano Pillars in Ibadan have been slated for May 6, while Dolphins and Warri Wolves will play on May 7 in Port Harcourt.
Warri Wolves are still involved in CAF Confederations Cup and have arrears of three games in the league, one of which comes up Thursday against Dolphins FC in Port Harcourt.
No changes have been made to the Match Day 8 fixtures, which would still hold on May 10, but the Match Day 9 fixtures have been rescheduled for May 17, while Match Day 10 fixtures are to be played on May 20.
Kick-off time for all games is 4pm.
The LMC warned that there may be need for further adjustments in view of Warri Wolves involvement on the continent and promised that all such changes would be made as the need arises and communicated accordingly.
