The Lagos State Football Association’s General Assembly has thrown its weight behind the Amaju Pinnick-led Nigeria Football Federation.
This was contained in a communique signed by the Lagos State FA Secretary, Akeem Rabiu-Okikioposu, after its Extra-Ordinary Congress held in Lagos on Friday.
The communique reads: “In appreciation of the positive well defined and sustainable moves of the NFF Administration, the General Assembly pledged support and express vote of confidence on the leadership of NFF headed by Mr. Amaju Melvin Pinnick.”
The Assembly equally thanked Pinnick for his assurances on logical and sustainable football development plan for Nigeria.
The General Assembly also empowered the Executive of LSFA to as a matter of urgency set up the frame work and rules of the Lagos Super League and Students Junior League.
“In view of the great efforts and innovative moves of the LSFA administration, culminating into visible results, General Assembly passed a vote of confidence on the leadership of LSFA chaired by Barrister Seyi Akinwunmi,” it said.
The Congress however shall continue to abide with the tenets of association football and respect for the FIFA, CAF, WAFU, NFF and LSFA Statutes, the Lagos State FA stated.
The General Assembly also expressed deep appreciation to the Governor of Lagos State, Akinwunmi Ambode, for continued support and encouragement of the LSFA Board and its programs.
The Congress also expressed appreciation also to the SA Sports/Chairman, Lagos State Sports Commission, Ayodeji Tinubu, for his understanding and assurances to support LSFA programmes.
