Kwara United Supporters Club has commended the state government, under the leadership of Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed, for its continuous support to the club.
They also appealed for special attention for the club, especially as the club is currently battling against relegation.
The appeal was contained in a release signed by the Chairman, Alhaji Tunde Rahman, and the Secretary, Idowu Sulaiman, and made available to the press.
“We appeal to the state government to kindly look into the plight of the players and technical crew, who have been up and doing in the course of making the team great, by motivating them to do their best for the club,” the statement stated.
Kwara United FC is currently in the 18th position on the 20 team Nigeria Premier Football League table, with 32 points from 31 matches and with a goal deficit of minus 15.
The Supporters Club noted that despite the challenges facing the state financially, government is still showing concern for the continued existence of the club, adding that assisting the club to retain its Premier League status will lend credence to the sacrifice by the government and the stakeholders.
The Club also called on football stakeholders and supporters to rally round the team, especially at this crucial moment.
They commended the management and the technical crew of the team, as well as the players for their zeal, commitment and sacrifice, charging them to re-double their efforts to ensure that the team beats the drop.
They equally commended the League Management Company for organizing a hitch-free league this season.
