No fewer than 623,690 persons have been displaced by the flooding in Kogi State.
This figure covers 344 villages and nine local government areas.
Information from the National Emergency Management Agency has it that out of the 623,690 persons affected by the flooding, 50,493 have been accommodated in camps created for Internally Displaced Persons.
There are 87 of such camps.
The Head, Public Relations of NEMA, Yushau Shuaib, released these details on Thursday.
President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan is due to visit the states affected by the flooding.
The first state listed on Jonathan’s itinerary is Kogi State.
