Kaduna United FC in collaboration with US-based Montvarde Academy have embarked on a two-day talent hunt and scholarship award to underage footballers in Kaduna State.
Jide Bodunde, the club’s Media Officer, made the disclosure in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria on Friday in Kaduna.
Bodunde, said the scholarship was sequel to an agreement between the club and the Kaduna State Government to provide scholarships for players to study and play football overseas.
He said the scholarship, worth $60,000 per pupil, would be awarded to 10 pupils aged 14 to 16.
He said the beneficiaries would study and play football at the Montvarde Academy Sports Institute in Orlando, Florida.
The institute’s Football Administrator, Michael Potempa, who screened the players, commended the participants and urged youths to engage in sports and academics to evade idleness.
