Kaduna Assembly approves Bajoga’s nomination as deputy governor

The Kaduna State House of Assembly has approved the nomination of the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party in Kaduna State, Ambassador Nuhu Bajoga, as the state’s deputy governor.
The approval was given on Thursday after the Assembly reconvened from its break for an emergency session to deliberate on Bajoga’s nomination.
Bajoga emerged the deputy governor after the death of Governor Patrick Yakowa, leading to the crowning of the former Deputy governor, Ramalan Mukhtar Yero, as governor.
The Deputy Speaker of the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Hon. Matoh Dogara, presided over Thursday’s session that confirmed Bajoga as the deputy governor.
Bajoga was born in 1949 in Kwoi, Jaba Local Goverment Area of Kaduna State.
He attended S.I.M. Primary and Secondary Schools, Kagoro in 1959 and 1968 before moving to St. Paul College, Zaria in 1970 to complete his secondary school education.
He obtained a Diploma in Accountancy from Kaduna Polytechnic in 1975 and became an Associate Chartered Accountant after completing a course at Slough College England in 1980.
He worked with the Kaduna State Government as Accountant between 1975 and 1976.
He also worked with Ashaka Cement Plc as Internal Auditor in 1980 and rose to become the company’s General Manager in 1993.
Bajoga served as Nigeria’s Ambassador to Poland with concurrent accreditation to the Czech Republic between 2004 and 2007.
He was elected the state Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party in March 2012.
