Joshua: Dillian Whyte is an idiot 

Anthony Joshua has blasted Dillian Whyte despite his brutal victory over Dereck Chisora.

Whyte knocked Chisora out with a vicious left hook in the 11th round of their highly-anticipated rematch at the O2 on Saturday.

Immediately after the fight, Whyte shouted as Anthony Joshua walked towards the ring saying: “Rematch! Let’s go! Let’s go.”

The two fought in 2015 with Joshua stopping Whyte in the seventh round for the only loss of the 30-year-old’s career.

But Joshua has other targets in mind as he looks to become the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world.

There has been plenty of talk suggesting AJ will fight Deontay Wilder next with the pair holding all heavyweight straps between them.

To Dillian’s face in the ring, Joshua said: “Dillian, let’s forget about what happened in our fight in the past. It was at British level, we’re now at world level and we can see what we’re about.

“It was a good fight back then but we need to see where we’re at, now.

“But we know how the list goes. No 1 or No 2 – if they’re not available then if anyone deserves a shot, it is Dillian.”

Whyte hit back telling Joshua: “I won’t wait for you, I need to know what I’m doing. I’ve got my own career.”

And after Whyte had stormed out of the ring, Joshua slammed his old rival.

“Dillian is an idiot, you know,” Joshua said.

“I showed him some respect. I knocked him out clean when we first met but I told him to forget about that.

“We’ve both developed so let’s prove who’s a better fighter now.

“If Deontay Wilder ain’t serious and he’s going to fight Tyson Fury and doesn’t want to become undisputed champion then Dillian will get a shot.

“[But] He starts piping up.

“I’m quite respectful but if he steps into a ring with me, trust me, none of these heavyweights are on my level.

“I keep my lid on it because I don’t want to explode on none of them, I do that business in the ring.

“When the crowd starts cheering and saying they want to see me face Dillian, I don’t want no talk when I whoop him saying ‘he’s had an easy touch’.

“The fans want me to fight Wilder. It doesn’t annoy me but it’s a fan friendly sport.”
