President Goodluck Jonathan has nominated a former Inspector General of Police, Mike Okiro, to fill the vacant position of the chairman, Police Service Commission.
In a letter read on the floor of the Senate on Wednesday, the President also nominated a former President of the Senate, Chief Ken Nnamani, as the chairman of Infrastructure Concession and Regulatory Commission.
Also expected to be confirmed along with the duo are Yakubu Mohammed, Comfort Obi and Otive Igbuzor as members of the PSC.
Okiro was the Inspector General of Police from 2007 to 2009.
If confirmed, he will succeed Parry Osayande, a retired Deputy Inspector General of Police, who served as the PSC boss from 2008-2013
