Rangers International FC of Enugu forward, Ifeanyi Egwim, will be moved into a conducive apartment for special care after a successful surgery on his broken leg.
Paul Ozor, the General Manager of Rangers, disclosed this in a telephone interview with the News Agency of Nigeria.
He said that the Enugu State Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, had directed that every necessary attention be given to the player to ensure speedy recovery.
Ozor said: “In one or two weeks from now he (Egwim) will be moved into a conducive apartment or a hotel for speedy recovery.”
NAN reports that Egwim broke his leg on October 2 in Rangers last match of the season against El Kanemi Warrior of Maiduguri.
Rangers eventually defeated the Maiduguri team 4-0 to lift the 2015/2016 Nigeria Professional Football League title.
According to Ozor, the player will soon be back on his feet to face his football career.
Ozor said: “Egwim is recuperating fast at the Orthopaedic Hospital Enugu; he is responding to treatment beyond our imagination.
“The hospital management is yet to decide when he (Egwim) will leave the hospital, but specialists are around him all the time based on the governor’s instruction.
“The state government will also take care of the bill incurred to ensure the player gets the best of treatment.”
The Rangers boss also said that doctor’s report indicated that Egwim would return to the field of play soon.
Rangers won the league title after amassing 63 points, while Rivers United finished on the second spot with 60 points.
