The Image Merchants Promotion Limited, a media conglomerate, has approved the appointment of top public relations practitioners and Editors as Directors and Editorial Board members.
The Company Secretary/Legal Adviser, Yunusa Abdulsalam, made the announcement in a statement.
The company, which publishes PRNigeria and Economic Confidential magazine, appointed a Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, Mallam Sule Yau Sule, as Chairman of the Board of Directors and award-winning crisis Communicator, Yushau A. Shuaib, as Managing Director/Editor-in-Chief.
Also appointed Directors are a Fellow of the Nigerian Guild of Editors, Mallam Yusuf Alli, and Chairman Zone D of Broadcasting Organisation of Nigeria, Alhaji Ismail Sani.
The Managing Editor of the Economic Confidential, Ewache Ajefu, is also appointed into the board as a director.
The board has also appointed a former Defence Editor with Thisday Newspapers, Senator Iroegbu, as Editor of PRNigeria and an ABU Mass graduate, Sani Ibrahim Paki, as Head of PRNigeria Centre Kano.
An accounting graduate of Baze University, Abuja, Saad Yushau Shuaib, is Business Development Manager.
Image Merchants Promotions Limited is a leading PR firm that has won several top public relations awards from African Public Relations Association and International Public Relations Association.
The Board Secretary also said in the statement that the appointments were made as parts of efforts to reposition the organisation for enhanced service delivery to its large clientele.
Meanwhile, the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations is set to host a Mandatory Continuing Professional Development Programmes at PRNigeria Centre Kano on November 26, 2019.
Sule, the Chairman of Membership Committee of NIPR, disclosed this at a media briefing organised by Image Merchants Promotion Limited, Publishers of PRNigeria and Economic Confidential.
Dr. Sule said the training Programme is meant for registered Public Relations Practitioners in Nigeria as one of the criteria for professional upgrade and promotion of members of the institute.
He said the quarterly programme will provide participants an opportunity to acquire the latest techniques and better skills in strategic communication.
Speaking at the event, the NIPR Chairman Kano state chapter, Malam Aminu Hamza, explained the various benefits attached to membership of the institute and reminded communication students present at the event of the possibility of joining the institute as student-members.
Earlier, in his remarks, Shuaib, the Managing Director of Image Merchants Promotion Limited, said the PRNigeria Centre Kano was established to provide strategic communication services and offer training and internship programme on investigative journalism and public relations practice.
Shuaib added that the Centre is collaborating with the Correspondents Chapel of the Nigerian Union of Journalists for the hosting of Press Briefing, Media Chats and other activities that would enhance their professional practice.
During a mentorship programme on public relations at the occasion, 22 students of the Faculty of Mass Communication of Bayero University, Kano registered as student members of NIPR.
Guests at the event included Hamza; Director Platinum FM and WTV, Alhaji Ismail Sani; Publisher of Daily Nigerian, Mallam Jaafar Jaafar; and Executive Members of the Correspondents Chapel.
