The Management of Ikeja Electric on Tuesday blamed the 11-day blackout in parts of Arepo, Ogun State, including Journalists Estate, on broken poles by the nearby Kara bridge.
The Head of Corporate Communication Unit of the company, Felix Ofulue, told the News Agency of Nigeria that the affected poles carried the wires that supplied power to the area.
Ofulue appealed to residents of the affected area that the company’s engineers were working round the clock to replace the affected poles with new ones and restore power supply.
Ofulue assured the residents that electricity supply would be restored to the area by Wednesday.
NAN reports that electricity consumers affected in the area had been thrown into darkness since August 6.
