Inspector General Of Police, Muhammed Dikko Abubakar, through the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Umar Manko, has honoured 22 Special Anti-Robbery Squad team members in Lagos State, including the commander of the squad, Abbar Kyari, with certificates of courage for a well job done in the last one year.
Part of the reasons they were honored was their pivotal role in clamping down on armed robbers in Lagos State.
Only on Tuesday, seven armed robbers involved in the Murtala Mohammed International Airport robbery in Lagos State were paraded.
They were apprehended by officers and men of SARS.
The same armed robbery team, made up of Teslim Okunola, late kazeem Aderibigbe, Ibrahim Abdulahi, Emmanuel Ehianeta and Christain Joshua were also involved in the N600 million robbery at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, Lagos State in February 2012.
Several arms and ammunitions were recovered from them.
