The Eagle Online has exclusively gathered that the members of the home-based Super Eagles are being owedN7.8 million ($48,300), being accumulated camp allowances while prosecuting the African Nations Championship in South Africa.
A member of the team, who pleaded anonymity, hinted that they got agitated when the Nigeria Football Federation was not forthcoming with the payment of their $100 daily allowance all through their stay in South Africa.
The player fumed: “We are yet to be paid our three weeks allowance even after the competition is over. We were only told to be patient and that they will pay us on Monday in Nigeria.
“We have received several promises and yet they have not fulfilled any of it since the competition started in South Africa.”
In the time past, arguments and counter arguments were witnessed over the non-payment of allowances and bonuses to members of the national team.
One of such was the Super Eagles refusal of $5,000 as their match bonus after beating Kenya in Nairobi during a Brazil 2014 World Cup qualifier.
