Premier League side, Heartland FC of Owerri, Imo State, will resume its League and FA Cup campaigns this weekend without the services of Ivory Coast international, Roland Koffi, who is currently recuperating in a hospital after undergoing a surgery.
Koffi, 19, was rushed to a private hospital at the weekend after he complained of severe stomach pains.
The midfielder was later diagnosed to suffer from hernia and was rushed into the theatre for surgical operation.
The Medical Officer of Heartland FC, Deacon George Iheanacho, while confirming the operation as successful, said the player was responding well to treatment and may be discharged from hospital bed in a few days.
However, the medical officer could not state exactly when the mercurial midfielder would resume training.
“It depends on a number of things but we’re hopeful it would be very soon. Initially, the doctor said it may take between three to four weeks for him to come back fully but he was operated on both sides of the groin, so I need to hear again from the doctor,” Iheanacho explained.
Meanwhile, the General Manager of Heartland FC, Prince Okechukwu Ibe, has sent a get-well-quick message to the player on-behalf of the club.
