A massive cleansing exercise looms in the camp of the struggling Nigeria Premier League side, Shooting Stars Sports Club.
The Eagle Online gathered that the imminent shake up will affect the playing personnel and management as well as the coaching crew.
The decision to purge the team may not be unconnected with its poor outing so far in the nine-week old season.
The Ibadan soccer lord is neck deep in relegation zone with its 18th position in the 20-team log.
Many of the fans of the club are already fear gripped that the team may be relegated unless a comprehensive reorganisation is effected soon.
It is recalled that only last weekend, the club’s Manager and ex-international, Mutiu Adepoju, was held hostage by scores of the club’s supporters.
In a related development, the management of the Shooting Stars Sports Club has urged the fans and supporters of the club to be patient with the club in its rebuilding exercise.
In an official club statement made available to newsmen on Thursday, the club urged the fans to show understanding at this period.
It said the club needed them the most now, adding that the management has begun the process of recruiting more quality players
The statement stated further that the club’s scouts have been working since the start of the season and have identified quality players that have accepted to join the team with only their clearance being awaited.
The identities of the players for some reasons will not be disclosed for now but as soon the transfer is finalised they will officially join the team and be unveiled, the club said.
The club has however urged the fans and supporters not to abandon the team now as the boys on ground have resolved to give their best in Saturday’s game against Ocean Boys in Ibadan and ensure they picked all the maximum points.
