The Governor Jonah Jang-led Nigeria Governors’ Forum on Wednesday condemned the twin bomb blasts in Jos, Plateau State in which 118 people died and property were destroyed.
This was contained in a statement signed by the Administrator of the Forum, Osaro Onaiwu, in Abuja.
The statement said the bombings were “cowardly and designed to shake the faith of citizens in a united Nigeria”.
It stated that the governors of the forum had sent condolences to the people of Plateau State and the families that lost loved ones in the attack.
It called on Nigerians to unite against the forces of evil, adding that a united Nigeria would make it difficult for the terrorists to penetrate.
The governors expressed support for Jang, who is the Plateau State governor, adding that they would stand by him and the people of the state “in this period of distress”.
