Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State on Friday swore-in Justice Nurudeen Umar as acting Chief Judge of the state.
Performing the ceremony, the governor, who was represented by his deputy, Prof. Hafizu Abubakar, said the judiciary remained the only hope of the common man.
He said: “Judiciary, as you know, is the last hope of the masses as well as government in the country.”
Ganduje said the appointment of the acting chief judge was on merit.
He assured him of the support of the executive and legislature, adding that the three arms of government needed to collaborate to move the state forward.
Haruna Falali, the state Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, administered the oath of office on the acting chief judge.
