The Governor of Adamawa State, Senator Mohammadu Umaru Jibrilla Bindow, has flagged off the construction of a road that takes off from Jippu Jam Roundabout to Yolde Pate in Yola town, which has been neglected for over forty years.
According to Bindow, history is being made as the flag off ceremony had the likes of Lamidon Adamawa, Alhaji Barkindo Aliyu Musdafa, to witness the occasion.
Musdafa was the Commissioner of Works in 1982 when the community of Yolde Pate emerged.
He told the people of the state that his administration is purely a people-oriented one and he does not have any political godfather except the people of the state that he is answerable to.
Bindow said the construction of the road became paramount considering the economy potentials of the area and to fulfill campaign promises he has made last year to them.
The Chief of Staff, Alhaji Abdulraham Abba Jimeta, told politicians in the state who are trying to distract the Bindow-led administration with mere political propaganda, that the Governor is out for work and means business and therefore should excuse him to settle down for the business and progress he has come for in the state.
The 4.5km road that leads to Yolde Pate settlement had been neglected by the last 15 administrations in the State since the defunct Gongola State.
It was awarded to Roycon Construction company for N1.3 billion.
The company has promised to complete the road in good time.
