The President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Ibinabo Fiberesima; Mike Ezuruonye; Uche Jombo and other Nollywood actors have started paying tributes to the late actor, Muna Obiekwe, who died on Sunday as a result of kidney failure.
Fiberesima, while speaking on Monday, said: “Muna was a private person, which is responsible for the little information about his ill-health status.
“Muna was a fantastic person but he was just a very private person.
“That is all I can say.”
Other colleagues took to their social media pages to eulogise the actor, who will be remembered for several roles.
“It’s not the length of life but the depth of life, RIP, Muna,” Ezuruonye said on his Facebook page.
Jombo, in her comment, said: “So sad Muna.
“Why?
“RIP bro.
“Nollywood loses another.”
Despite the little confusion over the death of the Nollywood “bad boy” actor, Obiekwe, since Sunday, there have been an outpouring of emotions after the death was confirmed, with several of his colleagues describing his passing away as painful.
Obiekwe reportedly died on Sunday after he was found vomiting at his Festac, Lagos home.
He was later rushed to an undisclosed private hospital within the estate where the doctor confirmed him dead.
Further checks by The Eagle Online revealed that the late Enugu State born actor had been undergoing dialysis sessions for treatment regarding kidney problems for several weeks before he finally gave up the ghost on Sunday.
