The Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Chief Godswill Akpabio, has assured the members of the Main Organizing Committee of Federation of Public Service Games Association of his state’s readiness to host the 2012 edition of the games.
The 2012 edition of the FEPSGA is scheduled to take place in Uyo from December 10 to 19, 2012..
The governor made the promise at the Government House, Uyo when he received members of the MOC.
Akpabio stated that for the fact the association considered Akwa Ibom State conducive for the hosting the 31st edition of the games, he will personally ensure that every necessary arrangement will be put in place to ensure a befitting games.
He said: “I want to appreciate the executive of FEPSGA for considering Akwa Ibom State a conducive place for this year’s games.
“I will personally make sure that everything needed for the games will be put in place for successful befitting games.”
Akpabio further said that since sport s is a unifying factor, he will continue to encourage sports at all level through sponsorship.
The President of FEPSGA, Chief Victor Orji, commended Akpabio for accepting to host the games.
Orji said: “I will ensure that FEPSGA under my leadership witnesses turn around and improve to the next level through better organization, bringing corporate bodies for sponsors and mileage the image of the games through publicity.”
Orji revealed this year’s games in Uyo will experience new innovation like Raffle Draw, award to best kitted ministry and most outstanding ministry and many others.
