The European Union has approved N7.2 billion to aid the war against corruption in Nigeria,
The money is to be deployed in the financing of three projects valued at 98 million Euro (approximately N20 billion), which will be implemented by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime.
The projects will be to support the country’s crusade in the areas of justice, anti-corruption and drugs.
The National Planning Commission disclosed the commitment of the EU when it hosted heads of foreign agencies at a high level project briefing session in Abuja.
At the briefing, a 35 million Euro (approximately N7.2 billion) financing agreement was signed by the Federal Government and the EU in the fight against corruption.
The Minister of National Planning, Dr. Shamsuddeen Usman, and the Head of the European Union Delegation to Nigeria, Dr. David MacRae, signed the agreement on behalf of Nigeria and the EU.
