Despite losing the Africa’s prestigious crown, the Super Eagles Captain, Vincent Enyeama, has sent congratulatory message to Yaya Toure for emerging the winner of the award a record fourth-time consecutively.
The Lille of France shot-stopper gave his heartfelt congratulatory message shortly after the Ivorian was unveiled the 2014 winner of the award.
His words: “I’m not a bad loser.
“I agree with the choice of Yaya Toure because he deserves it.
“He’s done pretty well with his club, Manchester City, in the English Premier League and the Champions League.
“So, I want to say a big congratulations to him.
“I’m only pained that Nigeria would not be at the Nations Cup but that is football and I believe we would definitely bounce back.”
A check on the Confederation of Africa Football website revealed that Enyeama polled 105 votes to placed third behind Yaya Toure, who got 175 vote and Gabonese striker, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, with 115 votes by national team coaches and captains.
