Nigerian international striker, Michael Eneramo, who recently concluded a two-year-deal with Besiktas, said he hopes to beat the record ex-Super Eagles striker, Daniel Amokachi, created in the club.
The 27-year-old, who is currently on holiday in Nigeria, said that once in Besiktas, he will double his efforts to surpass what the now assistant coach of the Super Eagles did during his 1996 to 1999 stint with the Turkish side.
He said: “As soon as I entered Turkey, I was told about what Amokachi did with Besiktas, that he was the best then.
“Now that I have joined the team, I have to double my efforts to surpass what ‘The Bull’ has done while he was at Besiktas.
“As a striker, I want to score as many goals as I can.”
During his three-year stay at Besiktas, Amokachi, aka The Bull, made 77 appearances for the club and scored 17 goals. Following Eneramo’s 77 appearances and 29 goals in his two-year stint with his former club, Sivasspor, he is likely to see his wish come to pass.
