Elections: Mrs. Buhari urges women to vote for APC

Aisha Buhari, the wife of the presidential candidate of All Progressives Congress in the upcoming election, Muhammadu Buhari, has urged women in the country to vote for the party’s candidates in all the elections.
Buhari made the call while addressing women at the palace of the Chief of Garki, Alhaji Usman Ngu-Kupi, in Garki, Abuja on Thursday.
She said: “We are here to meet with our women in Garki and to also extend our goodwill, with the type of messages we are getting from this area.
“We came to educate and remind the women that this is where we belong and on the importance of election and the need for them to participate fully.”
Represented by a former Minister of Women Affairs, Hajiya Hajo Sani, Buhari urged women to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards before the Sunday deadline fixed by the Independent National Electoral Commission for collection of the card.
She said: “We urge you to endeavour to get your PVCs and to be able to identify our party’s logo.
“You must learn to exercise patience because I know that you have so many domestic works to do.”
In his speech, Alhaji Ngu-Kupi commended Buhari for the “message to our mothers and sisters, enlightening them on APC’s manifestoes”.
He urged the women to enlighten their husbands and children to shun violence.
He said: “INEC said we should cooperate and have a peaceful election.
“I agree with that because we have no other country than Nigeria.
“So, we must understand and agree with each other.
“I commend President Goodluck Jonathan and other stakeholders on the signing of the Abuja Peace Accord.
“We must allow peace to reign in this country.
“We also must come out en masse to vote for candidates of our choice.”
