El Marino Sports Club, Lagos has elected a new executive committee to steer the affairs of the Club in the next one year.
The election of the new executive committee was part of the activities of the club’s 2016 Annual General Meeting, which took place in Ibadan, Oyo State recently.
The club also drew 1-1 with the University of Ibadan All Stars in a friendly football match, which took place at the football pitch of The Polytechnic, Ibadan.
During the keenly contested election, Seyi Adefarati was elected as the new Team Manager of the club.
Adefarati takes over from Martins Isoje, who was the Team Manager of the club for the last two years.
Other elected members of the new executive committee of the club include Adelokun Lawal (Secretary General), Igho Obajuwana (Financial Secretary), Uchechi Okere (Provost), Benjamin Ogbekhilu (Welfare Officer), Chris Anazia (Team Captain) and Edirin Yugbovre (Auditor)
Commenting on his election, Adefarati commended members of the Club for the confidence reposed in him.
He promised to provide the desired leadership, which will help realise the objectives of the club.
He said: “My vision is to make is to make El Marino the number one sports club is Nigeria.
“I know I cannot achieve this alone without the support of members.
“With unity of purpose, we will get there.”
El Marino Sports Club is a non-religious, multicultural and non-governmental club, whose aim is to promote physical development of members through sporting activities.
