Former Golden Eaglets midfielder, Musa Yahaya, is set to join up with Tottenham early next week for pre-season training.
The 16-year-old Nigeria winger had agreed a pre-contract agreement with Tottenham earlier this year and then went on loan with Celta Vigo.
Yahaya, who will be 17 in December, was the star player for the Nigeria team at the FIFA Under-17 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates last year.
He scored three goals as Nigeria progressed to the final where they defeated Mexico to win the trophy for a record fourth time.
Yahaya has since been called into the Nigeria Under-20 squad when he scored in a recent game against Tanzania.
He is an exciting prospect and naturally very excited with this opportunity, which will most certainly enhance his rising profile.
Tottenham fought off the challenge from leading clubs across Europe, including Barcelona, Arsenal and Manchester City, to sign Yohaya on a pre-contract agreement.
Yahaya was described as “a fast, skilful and powerful play-maker who can also play on the wing”.
Yahaya is said to have told reporters that he has been nicknamed ‘new Iniesta’ for years because of his accurate passing and ability to unlock defences.
Yahaya is expected to remain with Tottenham until September and on the completion of pre-season training, will go back on loan to Celta Vigo in La Liga for the remainder of the season.
