A former member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Dino Melaye, on Monday night escaped what was suspected to be an assassination attempt.
Melaye was attacked in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory.
Melaye was driving in a Golf car when he was blocked by another car around the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation Towers.
His attackers began raining bullets on his car.
He escaped unhurt.
Melaye believes the attack is in connection with his anti-corruption crusade against the government.
Melaye was part of the those who led the protest against the withdrawal of fuel subsidy by the government in January 2012.
