Despite okada ban, men on motorcycle shoot five dead in Kano

Despite the ban on the usage of motorcycles in Kano, Kano State, gunmen operating on motorbikes have shot dead five persons.
The incident happened on Tuesday at about 7pm.
Reports had it that the men were playing a game of draught in Dakata Quarters when their attackers arrived.
The state government had earlier announced a ban on the usage of motorcycles in Kano metropolis following the attack launched on the convoy of the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Ado Bayero, on Saturday.
Four persons were confirmed dead in the attack on Bayero’s convoy.
The Kano State acting Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, announced the ban on the usage of motorbikes in the state.
Gunduje said it was to ensure safety in the state.
