Amid weeping and gnashing of teeth on Friday, the Police Public Relations Officer, Delta State Police Command, Lucky Uyabeme, was buried in his home town in the state.
The PPRO’s kinsmen trooped out, wearing gloomy faces, to pay him their last respect.
The entire Emu-Unor villagers who besieged the Uyabeme family compound could not hold back tears as they wept throughout the programme, querying why death took him away while rising to the peak of his profession.
Prior to his death, he rose to the rank of an Assistant Superintendent of Police.
The PPRO died in a ghastly motor accident, which occurred between Ogwashi-Uku in Aniocha South Local Government Area of the state and Kwale, its neighbouring council area.
He was returning from his village, Emu-Unor, in Ndokwa East Local Government Area of the state when the accident happened late November last year.
The Highlander Jeep he was cruising in with two others, a man and a woman, was said to have somersaulted severally before killing only him.
He died on the spot.
Officers and men of the state police command also wore long faces at the burial ceremony.
The state Commissioner of Police, Ayo Ikechuckwu Aduba, who recounted the astuteness displayed by the late officer while acting as the PPRO under him, wondered why death snatched him away prematurely.
Aduba however gave glory to God for the fulfilled life he spent, even as he prayed to God to let the good works he did for his fatherland be sown for an eternal life.
