The death toll in Tuesday’s bomb explosion in Potiskum, Yobe State has risen to 30.
Sources told The Eagle Online that some of those critically injured, who were taken to the hospital, have died.
It was learnt that while 15 bodies, including that of the suspected female suicide bomber, were picked from the scene of the explosion at Tashar Dan-Borno Motor Park, the others died in the hospital.
A staff of the hospital had earlier told Channels Television that with the critical nature of those injured, the death toll was bound to rise.
“This is the worst suicide bombing so far recorded since the commencement of the insurgency, as it has recorded 15 deaths so far, while 53 persons are lying critically injured and there is a high possibility that the death toll will rise considering the extent of injuries so far on ground,” Channels Television quoted the nursing officer as having said.
