A pressure group, the Niger Delta Christian Political Front, demanded that the Federal Government should sack the Executive Director of the National Primary Health Care Development Agency, Dr. Ado Muhammed.
The group is angry that Muhammed mishandled the affairs of the agency by masterminding the diversion of projects meant for Ndokwa East Local Government Area of Delta State.
In a protest letter signed by National Secretary of the group, Comrade Alaowei Dorgu Ebifa, made available to The Eagle Online in Asaba, the Delta State capital on Thursday, NDCPF among other things accused Muhammed of abandoning all federal projects cited in the Ndokwa East axis of oil rich state.
Citing the festering crisis rocking the project billed for Oworobia Community in Ndokwa East but allegedly diverted to another community for monetary gains, which has pitched the community against the agency at the Federal High Court, Asaba, Comrade Ebifa called on President Goodluck Jonathan to act on their outcry with utmost urgency.
The group threatened protest by aggrieved Niger Delta groups in Abuja should the Federal Government fail to ensure that the projects cited in the region, especially those abandoned or diverted in Ndokwa East Council, were completed and commissioned.
According to the group, the agency has done nothing in the council area to boost the avowed transformation agenda of President Jonathan.
“At the expiration of this 21-day ultimatum, we shall mobilize a dreaded protest to Abuja, comprising various Niger Delta groups from different communities that have been shortchanged by the agency, to press home our demand for Dr. Ado Muhammed’s removal,” the group said.
The group lauded President Jonthan’s Nigeria Beyond Oil policy, which it claimed has impacted positively on the people of Delta State since Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan introduced it in the state.
