An Ebute Meta Magistrate Court in Lagos on Friday remanded a man, who allegedly stabbed his friend to death on the last Christmas Day after attending a carnival.
Magistrate M.O. Tanimola ordered that Nurudeen Jimoh should be kept in the Ikoyi Prisons pending the advice of the Lagos State Director of Public Prosecutions.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the court did not take the plea of the accused.
Tanimola adjourned the case to February 2 for mention.
The Prosecutor, Corporal Samuel Ishola, had submitted that Jimoh, a resident of 12, Jinadu Street, Mushin, Lagos, stabbed Afeez Oderinde in the ear and killed him.
Ishola said that the accused stabbed his friend with a broken bottle at 9am at 25, Adeshiyan Street, Ilupeju, Lagos.
Ishola said that the accused and the deceased went for a carnival at Mushin on December 24, during which they had a misunderstanding and fought.
According to him, the accused went to the deceased’s house the following day to continue the fight, during which he stabbed him to death.
