How we are curbing security challenges in Kaduna — CP

The Commissioner, Kaduna State Police Command, Ahmad Abdur-Rahman, says collaborative synergy with security agencies is helping to curb security challenges in the state.
Abdu-Rahman made this known during the study tour of participants of Course 27 of National Defence College to the police command on Monday in Kaduna.
He said: “My belief is that your coming here to interact with us will enhance our strategy in curbing crimes that is disturbing the state over time.
“But due to our collaborative and cooperative synergy with other security agencies, especially the Armed Forces, here in Kaduna, we have been able to nip problems in the bud.”
The CP explained that one point of such collaboration was during crisis in 2018 at Kasuwan Magani in Kachia Local Government Area of the state, when its paramount ruler was kidnapped and the spill over of the crisis engulfed Kaduna metropolis and environs.
“If there is no collaboration between the security agencies, the crisis would not have been curbed as quickly as possible,” he said.
Abdu-Rahman added that the command was fortunate to have the participants interact with it to share the challenges.
“The Kaduna Police Command is one of the most challenged commands in the nation,” he said.
The CP said their contributions would add to efforts at overcoming new challenges, especially during the upcoming general elections.
Earlier, the Team Leader, Major General Peter Dauke, said the visit to the police command was to enable them appreciate the challenges, constraints and various innovations the command had put in place to advance their work.
Dauke said: “From our interactions and collaborations with other security agencies in internal security operations, no doubt no service can do it alone.
“As such, we must continue to collaborate and cooperate with all stakeholders.
“It is for this reason that we are visiting the police command.”
Dauke also disclosed that earlier they had visited the Nigerian Air Force Base and Nigerian Army formation in Kaduna to appreciate the security challenges in the state.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that a lecture was presented on Scene of Crime, by DSP Yusuf Lawal, the officer in charge of automated finger print identification system in the command.
