Buhari, Tinubu others woo Aliyu to APC

The leadership of the All Progressives Congress, led by its National Chairman, Chief Bisi Akande, stormed the Niger State Government House on Tuesday to woo the Niger State Governor, Dr. Babangida Aliyu, and people of the state into their party.
Addressing the crowd at the Government House, they said they were in the state to extend their hands of fellowship to Aliyu and the citizens of the state to join the APC.
“We are asking through you for the people of Niger State to join the APC in order to change the fortune of the country for the better,” Akande said.
He noted that the ruling party in the state and at the federal level, the Peoples Democratic Party, has lost control in all spheres of administration, prompting the need for immediate change for the country.
Other leaders of the party, including former military leader, General Muhammad Buhari; and former Lagos State Governor, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, also spoke in the sane vein, pointing out that the PDP has failed in providing security, quality education and all basic amenities.
Tinubu therefore called on like minds like Governor Aliyu to sensitize and mobilise his people on the need for them to change and join hands with the APC to move Nigeria forward.
Aliyu said though he is still a member of the PDP but sees no reason why he should regard or see opposition parties as enemies.
He said: “The G7 Governors are still consulting and still hope that the internal crisis will be finally resolved.
“I cannot decamp or leave my party.
“I will wait until the final analysis before I can say what next to do.
“PDP in Niger State is one and we are committed to remaining as one family.
“I cannot leave now but I will always stand for what is right.”
