The presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Muhammadu Buhari,on Thursday sent a Christmas message to Nigerians.
The video message was posted on his official social media accounts: @ThisIsBuhari, on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
“Today is a time to remember that we are all brothers and sisters and we are stronger when we are together, when we reach out and care for each other,” Buhari said.
He added: I wish to all the families of Nigeria this holiday season a time of peace and hope and for the New Year, a year of safety, promise and change.
“Merry Christmas!”
Earlier this week, the candidate took some time out to celebrate in the season and underscore his commitment to the Nigerian creative industry when he attended the Lagos Christmas premiere of Saro The Musical 2, on December 23, 2014.
Saro The Musical is a Broadway show produced by Bolanle Austen-Peters, founder of Terra Kulture in Victoria Island, Lagos.
The candidate’s entrance threw the audience into a frenzy – welcoming him with loud cheers and applause.
He was accompanied by the Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi; former FCT Minister, Nasir El-Rufai; and former Lagos State senator, Olurunmibe Mamora, among others.
In what has been a busy week, the candidate also held a meeting with some of his passionate young supporters and volunteers where he spoke about some of his ideals and ideas for ensuring change in Nigeria when he becomes president.
