Breaking: Wike in landslide victory, declared Rivers governor-elect

The Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has been declared winner of the March 9 governorship election in the state by the Independent National Electoral Commission.

Wike, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, polled a total of 886,264 votes to defeat Biokpomabo Awara of the African Action Congress, who scored 173,859 votes.
