The Chief Whip of the Senate, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, has visited President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Kalu confirmed the development, which came after he announced that he was also going to visit the President in the Villa.
He said this after two presidential hopefuls: the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and Governor of Ebonyi State, David Umahi, paid courtesy calls on Buhari to inform him of their intention to succeed him in 2023.
Kalu, also a member of the APC, had said then that he was also going to do the same to intimate the President of his ambition to succeed him.
Announcing the visit on his verified Facebook page, Kalu wrote on Tuesday night: “Tonight, I paid President Muhammadu Buhari a visit to discuss major national issues and I am very satisfied with our discussion.
“I left him at 10pm and in good health.
“We look forward to a better Nigeria.”
