A former Governor of Osun State, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, has described the presidential system of government practised by Nigeria as a death snare, noting that Nigerians cannot survive it.
Aregbesola made this known at the National Dialogue on the Future of Nigeria in Honour of Prof. Ben Nwabueze.
It was ongoing as at press time at the National Institute of International Affairs, Victoria Island, Lagos State.
Aregbesola, also a former Minister, said: “Can Nigeria survive the executive presidential system?
“No.
“Presidential system of government is a death knell for Nigerians.
“We cannot survive it.”

The former Lagos State Commissioner for Works in the administration of then Governor Bola Ahmed Tinubu advocated that Nigeria should adopt the parliamentary system of government being debated at the National Assembly.
