Supreme Court affirms Wike as Rivers governor

The Supreme Court has affirmed the election of Barrister Nyesom Wike as the Governor of Rivers State.
The Supreme Court ruling was delivered on Wednesday.
Wile had gone to the Supreme Court to challenge the ruling of the Court of Appeal that nullified his election and asked for rerun election in some areas of the state.
This followed a petition by the candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the election, Dr. Dakuku Peterside, seeking the nullification of Wike’s declaration as governor by the Independent National Electoral Commission.
