President Muhammadu Buhari on Sunday stormed Borno State, the epicenter of the Boko Haram insurgency.
Buhari, after an early morning nationwide broadcast, went to Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, to mark the 57th independence day anniversary of Nigeria with troops of the Operation Lafiya Dole.
Those who joined the President in the celebration with the troops included the Service Chiefs, led by the Chief of Defence Staff, General Gabriel Olonisakin.
The Director General of the Department of State Services, Lawal Daura, was also at the ceremony.
The colorful ceremony had just ended as at the time of filing this report and President Buhari was about leaving Maiduguri.
