A bomb making factory has been uncovered in the Kaduna State home of a former All Nigeria Peoples Party chairmanship aspirant in the Federal Capital Territory, Husseni Dei Dei.
Acting on a tip off by residents of the neighbourhood, soldiers from the 1 Division of the Nigerian Army stormed the home of Dei Dei located on Sabon Birni Road, Kawo, Kaduna North Local Government Area, Kaduna State on Tuesday.
Dei Dei was arrested during the raid on the house.
Also arrested during the raid were two women and five children.
The Commander, 1 Division Internal Security Force, Brigadier General Tagbo Chuks Ude, told newsmen on Wednesday that a cordon-and-search operation was carried out on the house by his men at about 5.30pm on Tuesday.
Ude said items recovered during the operation included six AK 47 rifles, one light machine gun, 20 seven loaded and 17 empty AK 47 magazines and 58 rounds of 9mm ammunition.
Others were 275 rounds of 7.62mm NATO ammunition, one loaded light machine gun, nine prepared cans of improvised explosive device, one reel of firing cord and 125 pieces of detonator.
Ude said the recovered weapons were buried in the ground inside the house.
He said the house would be demolished.
