Boko Haram captures another Borno town

Latest information from Borno State has it that Shani, the headquarters of Shani Local Government Area, has been taken over by members of the terrorist sect, Boko Haram.
As earlier reported by The Eagle Online, following a telephone report by a citizen reporter, the town came under the attack of the terrorists on Saturday night.
The insurgents were said to have burnt the police station in the town “and quite a number of houses, including the Emir’s palace”.
The Emir was, however, said not to be in Shani when the terrorists struck.
Shani is located in the southern part of the state.
There was said to be no military presence in the town when the terrorists arrived.
The Boko Haram terrorists are still in control of some towns and villages in both Borno and Adamawa States.
The military has recovered some of the towns and villages earlier taken over by the terrorist sect in daring attacks.
