Babangida: Anxiety in Minna as journalists besiege his Hilltop Mansion

Few days after rumour filled the air that Nigeria’s former Military President, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, has passed on, journalists from various media houses have invaded the Hilltop Mansion of the gap toothed General.
However, everything seems normal as the road and barricade leading to Babangida’s mansion was manned by the same number of security men who have been guarding the place.
Journalists were not allowed to go close to the house as security men had warned that no photographs ‎be taken.
There was no unusual movements of personalities, family members or visitation from any quarter as people and vehicles are going about their normal businesses.
A source close to the family who stopped by to ask journalists why the invasion, said: “We are expecting General this week.”
Earlier information had it that Babangida was due to return to the country on Monday or Tuesday this week.
The source who did not want his name published further disclosed: “The rumour is false.
“IBB is expected from Germany where he went for treatment.
“Nigerians should keep praying for him.
“If IBB were to be dead since last week as rumoured, by now,‎ which is over three days, wouldn’t he have been brought back and be buried according to Islamic rites?”
As at the time of filing this report, no family member addressed the media.
There has also not been any official statement issued as to the whereabouts or status of the former Military President as the anxiety in Minna, the Niger State capital, keeps increasing by the hour.
