The Police have foiled an attempt to bomb the Living Faith Church, popularly known as Winners Chapel in Owerri, the Imo state capital.
An Improvised Explosive Device was recovered by the police at the premises of the church in the wee hours of Sunday.
Owing to this, the Sunday service of the church had to be relocated to another part of the town.
The device was said to have been spotted by a member of the church.
The police anti-bomb disposal unit was called in to defuse the bomb.
It was believed to have been planted on Saturday, waiting for detonation during the Sunday service.
The church is headed by renowned Bishop David Oyedepo.
The headquarters of the church is in Ota, Ogun State.
The police authorities in the state confirmed the development on Sunday.
Their advice: churches should pay attention to security.
