The Consultant engaged by Alhaji Atiku Abubakar for the establishment of TV Gotel in Abuja, John Chiamehen, has described the statement by the former Vice President on his failure to pay expatriates engaged for the project as “shameful and libellous”.
Chiamehen was reacting to the blame heaped on him by Abubakar for failure to pay expatriates engaged from CNN and CNBC among others.
The expatriates had accused Abubakar of not fulfilling the pledges made to them before they embarked on the trip to Nigeria.
But the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party for the 2019 election said Chiamehen messed up the project.
He said he opened the company’s account to the consultant for the purpose of the project.
He however said apart from not meeting the promise to generate N150 million, Chiamehen committed financial infractions, accusing him of having disappeared after he was asked to give account of his stewardship.
But speaking with PM News via email exchanges, the consultant said his lawyers, who are very familiar with the matter, will be “responding adequately on my behalf in the first instance in the coming hours”.
He added: “The true picture will be very different from what that shameful and libellous statement alleges.”
