Agbodo Community in Egor Local Government Area, home town of the Peoples Democratic Party gubernatorial candidate for this year’s gubernatorial election in Edo State, Gen. Charles Airiavbere, has made it a taboo for any son or daughter of the community to cast their votes for any person other than the incumbent Governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole of the Action Congress of Nigeria.
The Chairman of Agbodo Community, Mr. Daniel Abu, disclosed the position of the community on Tuesday when they took delivery of two transformers, promised the by Oshiomhole.
Abu said: “We are totally humbled and overwhelmed by this humanitarian disposition of the Comrade Governor, extended to us in Agbodo Community.
The promise was made on Friday, about four days ago.
“Today, Tuesday, two 500 KVA transformers have been delivered.
“Who is a son of Agbodo soil between the man who is from Agbodo that has not contributed anything to the community and a man who is not from Agbodo Community but decided to light the whole community and in the same vein is in the process of giving water to Agbodo people, bringing both primary and secondary schools and tarring close to two roads in the community?”
The Agbodo community chairman said the reply or answer is that Oshiomhole is the one that will be regarded as a true son of Agbodo soil.
He added: “It is therefore very clear that a man that cannot develop his home town in spite of many years at the corridors of power cannot also develop the entire state.
“I will like to place on record that today in Agbodo community, it is a taboo for all sons and daughters of the community to cast their votes for any person other than the Comrade Governor in the July 14 election.”
He noted that the community will forever remain grateful to the governor as they will continue to pledge their unalloyed, undying, undiluted and unflinching loyalty and support to his administration.
The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Political Matters, Hon. Samson Abu, who made the presentation of the two 500 KVA transformers on behalf of the state governor, said from the delivery of the transformers, it is evident that the governor fulfills his promises.
Both the young and old in the community took to the streets in celebration as they took delivery of the transformers.
In the words of the Woman Leader, Madam Janet Osagiede: “Since I was born, we have never seen a governor like Oshiomhole who has come to help us.”
