Walsall have signed striker Aramide Oteh from QPR on a loan deal until the end of the season.
Oteh has been recommended to the Saddlers by former player Paul Hall who is now in charge of the R’s under-23s side.
And manager Dean Keates is delighted to have added him to his ranks.
“Aramide is a striker we’ve been tracking for some time,” the boss said.
“He comes with really good pedigree, having come through the ranks at Tottenham before moving on to QPR, where he has played at Championship level.
“He’s been in and around their first team in recent weeks, scoring against Leeds and starting against Portsmouth in the FA Cup last weekend.
“Obviously I know Hally (Paul Hall) from our time together as players here at Walsall.
“Both he and his fellow coaching staff rate Aramide highly so we’re grateful to them for allowing him to continue his development here.
“He’s a lively frontman who will give me plenty of food for thought and create more competition for places.”
The London-born striker was on Tottenham’s books as a youngster before joining QPR in January 2017.
He netted 16 goals for the Under-23s last term and marked his full senior debut with a goal in a 3-1 Championship victory at Burton, playing six senior matches in 2017/18.
The pacey attacker has made five appearances for QPR this campaign, including a start against Portsmouth in the FA Cup last weekend and a goalscoring appearance against Leeds, also in the FA Cup, earlier this month.
