The All Progressives Congress youth coalition for good governance has faulted the national leadership of the party on the choice of Alhaji Yahaya Bello as the party’s governorship candidate in Kogi State.
The spokesman of the group, Rotimi Sunday, told newsmen on Wednesday in Lokoja that by picking Bello, the party had betrayed the sacrifice made by members of the coalition who voted for the APC.
Members of the coalition, Sunday warned, would not fold their arms and allow the APC leadership foist political crisis on Kogi State people who had been cohabiting peacefully irrespective of religion and tribe.
He rejected the selection of Bello as replacement for the late Prince Abubakar Audu and insisted that Abiodun Faleke was the right candidate that should replace the late Audu.
Sunday said Bello did not attend the 33 rallies held by the APC across the state to canvass for vote for the late Audu and Faleke.
He called on the National Chairman of the party, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, and members of the National Working Committee to tow the line of honour by reversing themselves on the choice of Bello.
Sunday also criticised the Independent National Electoral Commission for declaring the election inconclusive.
He described the decision as “unconstitutional”.
